It was reported that one of the tyres of the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) he was travelling in burst and the driver lost control, leading to the accident.
State Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Adegoke Adetunji, could not confirm the incident when contacted, saying he was yet to receive such report.
Unconfirmed report had it that the accident occurred after he left the church service at Iperu-Remo for Lagos as he was billed to travel out of the country.
It was said that he joined another vehicle in his entourage after the accident, but it could not be ascertained whether he escaped unscathed.
He was, however, said to have travelled out of the country.
Meanwhile, Chief Obasanjo has disclosed that he, with his family, still misses his late wife, Stella, even 10 years after she died.
Speaking at the 10th memorial service organised for the family at the Chapel of Christ the Glorious King, located at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, the widower revealed that both the Abebe and Obasanjo families would continue to missed his wife who died on October 23, 2005, as a result of a failed surgical operation in Spain.

Mr. John Abebe, who spoke on behalf of the Abebe family, recalled loving moments of his sister, expressing the reasons she would always be in their memories.
Also commenting on the late former First Lady was Senator Ben Murray Bruce, who described her as an unusual and global woman who contributed her quota to humanity before her death.
In his sermon entitled: “Keep her memory alive,” the Presiding Preacher, Pastor Yussuf Obaje, described Chief(Mrs.) Obasanjo as an epitome of womanhood, urging the family to continue to keep her legacy alive.
Deputy National Chairman south of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Segun Oni, noted that Stella was a humble, quintessential woman of integrity.
